02 / CORE PHILOSOPHY

"We challenge the modern disposable habit. An architecture of integrity does not hide behind paint; it stands proudly in exposed concrete, structural timber, and honest joints."

01

MATERIAL TRUTH

Raw, exposed resources sourced within regional boundaries. Zero superficial veneer wrapping. If it looks like stone, it holds the weight.

02

STRUCTURAL CLARITY

Engineering transparency where force vectors and load pathways are actively shown instead of entombed behind plasterboards.

03

CIRCULAR DESIGN

Assembled framework utilizing high-precision friction-bolts in place of permanent chemicals, allowing full modular reclamation.

04

THERMAL EQUILIBRIUM

Exploiting structural thermal massing and solar seasonal projections to maintain interior climate without grid dependence.

ANKUR BHANDDARI

Founding Principal & Lead Architect

Educated at Lovely Professional University, he is a Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture, New Delhi, and an Associate Member of The Indian Institute of Architects, Mumbai. His work is guided by the belief that architecture exists at the intersection of landscape, memory, and human experience—a quiet dialogue between permanence and change.

In 2013, he established Studio 7 Architects & Interiors as an independent practice driven by a commitment to thoughtful, enduring design. Since its inception, the studio has evolved through a diverse body of residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, each shaped by a careful understanding of context, materiality, and craft.

His design process often begins far from the drawing board. Time spent studying natural stone formations, regional construction traditions, and the changing character of the built environment informs much of Studio 7's architectural language. This ongoing exploration has cultivated an approach that values restraint over excess, authenticity over trend, and timelessness over novelty.

Beyond the physical dimensions of a project, he remains deeply interested in the emotional and experiential qualities of space. He believes that architecture should reveal itself gradually—through light, proportion, texture, and movement—rather than through overt gestures. This sensitivity to the human experience has become a defining characteristic of Studio 7's work, where every detail is considered in relation to how people live, interact, and connect with their environment.

As the sole founder and creative force behind the practice, he has nurtured Studio 7 from a modest independent venture into a respected design studio recognized for its clarity of vision and commitment to excellence. His involvement extends across every stage of a project, from conceptual development and material selection to execution and completion, ensuring that the original design intent remains uncompromised throughout the journey.
